Halloween RecipesOne of the most entertaining parts of a Halloween party is taking a look at the fun, spooky looking treats and snacks to eat.  The best idea for a Halloween party host or hostess is to find recipes that are quick & easy to prepare, but look incredible on a party table.

These are some of my favorite Halloween recipes:

1. Cemetery Cupcakes

This is an easy recipe that makes a truly dramatic impression.  All you need are cupcakes, chocolate frosting, chocolate sprinkles, Milano cookies, and a small tube of black icing that you can write with.Halloween Recipes

First frost the cupcakes with the chocolate icing then set them aside and take out the Milano cookies.  You should have one cookie for each cupcake.  On one side of the Milano cookie write “R.I.P” across the top half of the cookie and then repeat for all of the cookies and insert each cookie into a cupcake.  You should have a tombstone shaped half of the cookie sticking out of the cupcake, with “R.I.P” visible on the “tombstone”.

Finally, take the chocolate sprinkles and liberally sprinkle them in front of and around the “tombstone”.  This gives the visual effect of fresh dirt, and finishes off the look these cupcakes are going for.

2. Pumpkin Kabobs

Halloween RecipesThis is another super-easy recipe with great visual appeal.  For this snack, buy a packet of wooden kabobs.  If possible purchase the wooden skewers that are sharp on both ends.

Prepare some items for the kabobs.  You can use what you would like, but these should be finger foods.  I prefer an “antipasto” kabob.  For this type of kabob cut various meats and cheeses into cubes, and skewer them with black olives.

Once your kabob food items are prepared, it’s time to put the skewers into the pumpkin.  Use only the front half of the pumpkin – you want to be able to set other food behind this.  Also, Halloween Recipesmake sure there’s enough room between the skewers for people to reach down and grab food off of them, or to grab the skewer off.

When you’re finished skewering your pumpkin, you’ll have a dramatic, exciting pumpkin kabob focal point.

Halloween recipes like these are fun and easy, and they make for exciting conversation starters at a party.

Halloween Party Food

September 30, 2011

Every Halloween thousands of costume parties are enjoyed across the country. Decorations, party games, and music can contribute to a great party, but the Halloween party food can tie it all together to make a blast. Halloween Party FoodServing the right treats and drinks is the mark of a good host or hostess. Thankfully, there are tons of ideas for the perfect Halloween party food. The best way to find the perfect food for the party is to plan out a menu and then search out lots of different recipes. Try to create a theme with the food, drinks, and the decorations.

Some common favorite Halloween party foods are foods masked as eye balls. These are normally made with peeled grapes, but a new twist is to use marshmallows. The eye balls are made with raisins, red jam, and white marshmallows. The raisins are stuck onto the marshmallows using the jam. The jam will also look like a little drip of blood to add to the gory look.

Halloween Party FoodPumpkins are also a very popular theme for Halloween parties. Small pumpkins can be hallowed out and lined with wax paper or plastic wrap. This makes a great bowl for chips, cookies, or marshmallow eyes. The pumpkin seeds that were removed can also be roasted for a great little treat. Another favorite pumpkin themed food is a pumpkin cake. This cake is made using two Bundt pans. The cake halves are first baked and then layered on top of each other to form the pumpkin shape. An orange frosting is used to color the cake, and a black or brown frosted cupcake is placed on top to create the stem.

Another important touch is the punch being served.  Halloween party food is going to need something to wash it down with. No matter what typeHalloween Party Food of punch being served, a great way to mix it up and add some Halloween fun is to add a frozen hand to the bowl. One option for a frozen hand is
