If you are the parent of a child aged one to seven it is likely that you may have to plan and host a Care Bears birthday party. This is because the classic stuffed animals and cartoon characters are just as popular today as they were over twenty years ago. Their books and movies always offer up a lovely message and serve as the ideal theme for a friendly party.
Because a Care Bears birthday party is such a popular choice, parents are going to be able to easily acquire all of the various materials necessary for such an event. There are invitations, décor, cake toppers, and favors available with all of the Care Bear characters.
Naturally, a parent is going to want to customize their party a bit too, and this is easily done. For one thing, it isn’t necessary to stick only to the décor items made available. For example, parents might purchase dozens of brightly colored streamers that coordinate with the color scheme of their child’s favorite Care Bear. They can also find all kinds of toys to use as favors and gifts, but which might also serve as decorative, fuzzy guests seated around the table too.
A Care Bears birthday party could also feature games and activities themed around the characters as well. Kids might be able to watch a short movie or DVD, listen to a book on tape, or play games that use the characters as well.
For instance, why not create a “draw your favorite Care Bear” activity that lets kids use all kinds of arts and crafts materials to make a poster of their favorite Care Bear. Before the party even begins, kids might also get a chance to make a placemat for their seat at the table. This helps to keep younger kids in place, and also really gets them into the party mood!
Clever parents might also make up such games as “pin the heart on the bear” and a “Care Bear stare” version of the classic Red Light/Green Light game too. Instead of musical chairs, kids might also enjoy a rousing game of “musical clouds” too!
Why not hire a few local babysitters to do a face painting station for the Care Bears birthday party too? They can be given printouts of the various bears and then transfer the symbols of a guest’s favorite bear to a child’s cheek or upper arm.
