One of the most entertaining parts of a Halloween party is taking a look at the fun, spooky looking treats and snacks to eat. The best idea for a Halloween party host or hostess is to find recipes that are quick & easy to prepare, but look incredible on a party table.
These are some of my favorite Halloween recipes:
1. Cemetery Cupcakes
This is an easy recipe that makes a truly dramatic impression. All you need are cupcakes, chocolate frosting, chocolate sprinkles, Milano cookies, and a small tube of black icing that you can write with.
First frost the cupcakes with the chocolate icing then set them aside and take out the Milano cookies. You should have one cookie for each cupcake. On one side of the Milano cookie write “R.I.P” across the top half of the cookie and then repeat for all of the cookies and insert each cookie into a cupcake. You should have a tombstone shaped half of the cookie sticking out of the cupcake, with “R.I.P” visible on the “tombstone”.
Finally, take the chocolate sprinkles and liberally sprinkle them in front of and around the “tombstone”. This gives the visual effect of fresh dirt, and finishes off the look these cupcakes are going for.
2. Pumpkin Kabobs
This is another super-easy recipe with great visual appeal. For this snack, buy a packet of wooden kabobs. If possible purchase the wooden skewers that are sharp on both ends.
Prepare some items for the kabobs. You can use what you would like, but these should be finger foods. I prefer an “antipasto” kabob. For this type of kabob cut various meats and cheeses into cubes, and skewer them with black olives.
Once your kabob food items are prepared, it’s time to put the skewers into the pumpkin. Use only the front half of the pumpkin – you want to be able to set other food behind this. Also,
make sure there’s enough room between the skewers for people to reach down and grab food off of them, or to grab the skewer off.
When you’re finished skewering your pumpkin, you’ll have a dramatic, exciting pumpkin kabob focal point.
Halloween recipes like these are fun and easy, and they make for exciting conversation starters at a party.
