It is somewhat interesting to note that even very young girls know what the word “spa” indicates. Often it is kids as young as only seven or eight years of age who could tell you that a spa day might include a manicure or pedicure as well as some other special beauty treatments. This is one of the reasons that there are so many spa party ideas for younger children’s’ birthday events.
What are these spa party ideas? They might be as simple as a little girl asking for a nail salon party that might feature different fingernail “stations” where polish and stickers are applied. Alternately, the child might actually want to go to a salon with one or two friends to get their nails professionally done. Either option is extremely affordable and relatively easy to plan.
There are also much more expansive spa party ideas where parents treat the birthday girl and her guests as if they were actually attending a day spa. This would usually include a sleepover event, and could begin with spa party invitations designed to look like a “reservation” at a spa. This would list the things that would occur (which would be to allow any parents with concerns about allergies to understand what was involved in the spa party), and would indicate the time, date, etc.
Spa party ideas like this could be very flexible and creative and allow parents to incorporate things like manicure and pedicure treatments, makeup application, and even some hairdressing. Old-fashioned cold cream with cucumber slices over the eyes could also serve as a low-cost, memorable, and totally safe spa treatment too. If the budget allows, it might even be fun to supply each of the guests with an affordable terrycloth spa robe, or a special spa towel, as part of their goodie bags for the event.
It would also be fun to have an adult serve as a waiter to take orders from the especially printed “spa menu”. This would allow the parents to have control over the costs of food, but would also let the birthday girl and her guests feel like they were getting to order food that was made especially for them.
Some spa parties might have a more active theme and include DVDs of exercise classes meant especially for children in the appropriate age group. Dance instruction, yoga, and other popular trends in exercise could easily be incorporated into the spa program, and all of the other pampering options could follow afterward.
